Who Is October Rules Fest and what is it's relationship to Dallas Rules Group ?

October Rules Fest is a separate entity from Dallas Rules Group, though 3 of tthe 4 founders of Dallas Rules Group are also Principals of the October Rules Fest.

These are the principals of October Rules Fest, who are also founders of Dallas Rules Group:

  • James Owen
  • Greg Barton
  • Rolando Herndandez

These three people are entirely responsible for the excellent program and occassion that is October Rules Fest. Please give all the credit to them for their hard work and brilliance in bringing this great occassion together.

What is the relationship between Dallas Rules Group and October Rules Fest ?

They are different types of entities entirely, so the relationship is worth noting here. 

Dallas Rules Group is fully supportive of the great occassion that October Rules Fest has become.

  • We are fully supportive in any way we can be
  • We encourage our members to volunteer, as individuals, in any way they can.
  • We are delighted to be a named sponsor of October Rules Fest, and use our influence to direct our members to this event.

Here, the word "Sponsor" is defined as any party who contributes supports or otherwise adds positive inputs to the event. The Dallas Rules Group's primary activity, in this regard, is to make people who come to the our meetings and our web site aware of the event.

Is Dallas Rules Group a Principal in October Rules Fest ?

Dallas Rules Group is not a formal entity, it has no assets (other than bytes on a borrowed server) and no formal status. It is merely a collection of individuals who meet at a pre-determined time in a pre-determined place. So we cannot, by definition, be a Principal in any endeavor.

Are there Dallas Rules Group participants who have volunteered for October Rules Fest ?

Yes ! Already three individuals from Dallas Rules Group have already volunteered their time and resources to set things up, make arrangements, put together website information, even handle funds. They are not Principals in the October Rules Fest, and merely volunteering their time and resources as they are able.
